ANFA seeks govt permission to resume training

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has demanded that the government allow resumption of training. The ANFA office bearers met Member Secretary of National Sports Council (NSC) Ramesh Kumar Silwal and reminded him about players worrying about the sport.
NSC Member Secretary Silwal was urged to help create favourable atmosphere for players’ training. With the government’s plan to open various sectors, even the sports need to be opened, said ANFA President Karma Chhiring Sherpa. “Government must permit for resumption of training for players to make sports dynamic,” he underscored during the meeting. It was already late to open the training.
President Sherpa further brought the reference that the sports could be played even without audience as done in various foreign countries in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
On the occasion, NSC Member Secretary Silwal assured that he would take initiative to create atmosphere favourable to resume orientation.
Similarly, ANFA Spokesperson Kiran Rai shared the information that ANFA was proposed by some countries to hold international friendly football match in coming November and December. Discussion to this was forwarded by the ANFA, he added.
With the COVID-19 lockdown the government extended time and again since the beginning of March 24, the closed training of the players has been disrupted.
