Numbers rising: 2,020 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in 24 hours
Kathmandu. The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed 2,020 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in the country.
In his regular press meet, spokesperson of the ministry, Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, informed that the COVID-19 tally in the country has reached 61,593 as of Friday afternoon. Till date, 43, 200 patients have been discharged and the number of active cases remains at 17,383.
In the past 24 hours, 871 people have been discharged whereas seven deaths have been reported. With this, the total death count due to COVID-19 has reached 390. 11,458 people have been tested using the PCR technique whereas 7,736 await their turn in quarantine.
Kathmandu valley alone accounts for 859 confirmed cases and four deaths due to COVID-19 today.
