Institutional school teachers agitated, demanding salary
Kathmandu. Institutional School Teachers’ Union-Nepal (ISTU-Nepal) has made public a series of protest programs making a 10-point demand stating that during the pandemic, teachers and staff have not been provided salary and other benefits.
Hom Kumar Thapa, president of ISTU said that the organization would forward their demands to all local government bodies once again and send a reminder letter to Private and Boarding Schools’ Organisation Nepal (PABSON) and National Private and Boarding Schools’ Association Nepal (N-PABSAN).
The organization has demanded that salary be provided to the unpaid teachers and staff at the earliest. It has also requested the concerned parties to arrange for the reinstatement of teachers who have been expelled in the pretext of financial crisis due to COVID-19.
ISTU president Thapa demanded that the rights of teachers and staff be ascertained. He stressed that the provisions in acts and regulations must be implemented verbatim.
