Prince Harry praises Nepali people for their undying spirit during the pandemic
Kathmandu. Britain’s Prince Harry has praised the unshaken spirit and compassion of the Nepalis amidst the coronavirus pandemic. He spoke through a video for Trailwalker UK which is organizing a 100 Km charitable relay in support of Oxfam and The Gurkha Welfare Trust.
The two organizations aim at helping Nepal to tackle the coronavirus pandemic. Prince Harry reminisced the year 2015 when the massive earthquake struck Nepal.
He had visited Nepal to see the damages created by the earthquake and delve into the way forward regarding reconstruction. He said that although many houses, temples and other structures had been flattened due to earthquake, the Nepali people did not lose hope but rather helped each other. He also said that their strength, resilience and a feeling of empathy towards each other was quite commendable. The massive earthquake took lives of almost 9000 people leaving 3.5 million people homeless.
The prince mentioned that the coronavirus pandemic has put up a new challenge to the world. He also spoke about the works done by Oxfam and Gurkha Welfare Trust to tackle the pandemic in Nepal. Praising those organizations, he said that they were doing a great job even in such a challenging and difficult situation.
