Banke. Surya Bahadur Tharu, chairman of Bardiya Municipality, Ward No. 3 of Bardiya died today at the age of 39 due to COVID infection at Kohalpur Teaching Hospital.
Naresh Shrestha, focal person of the District Public Health Office, confirmed that Chairman Tharu had been diagnosed with typhoid ten days ago and received primary care at Bheri Hospital. He was moved to Kohalpur Teaching Hospital when he was tested positive for COVID-19 infection.
The number of deaths from the coronavirus in Banke has reached five. Earlier, patients from Kailali, Achham, Arghakhanchi, Surkhet and Bardiya had died in Banke.
