Indian Union Minister of State for Railways dies of COVID-19

New Delhi (Agency). Indian Union Minister of State for Railways, Suresh Angadi succumbed to COVID-19 infection on Wednesday.
On 11 September, the 65-year-old minister had confirmed his diagnosis and said that he was doing fine under doctors’ care. Two weeks after being diagnosed with the disease, he passed away in AIIMS Delhi.
He is the first Union minister from Narendra Modi’s Cabinet to have fallen prey to COVID-19 from Karnataka. Former president of India, Pranav Mukherjee, had also died of corona complications.
The situation of COVID-19 is quite alarming in India with about 7 million cases, making it second severely affected country in the world, first being the US.
