Number of people observing home isolation increases
Chitwan. According to the District Health Office, Chitwan, the number of people living in home isolation has increased. With 943 active Covid-19 cases, 626 are living in home isolation while 317 are in institutional isolation.
The Head of the Office, Deepak Tiwari believes home quarantine has been effective as people living in home isolation are safe in their own houses as they are in hospitals. He added, “Those who do not have symptoms are no longer considered to be in isolation from the hospital and those who do not have the physical infrastructure for quarantine are living in institutional isolation.”
The government has advised people to stay in home isolation, as there will be problems in the treatment of complex patients due to the lack of beds. People are opting for home isolation since the government set a standard for hospitalization of infected people with symptoms.
Currently, 449 people are living in home isolation in Bharatpur Metropolitan City. There are 65 in Ratnanagar, 56 in Khairhani, 25 in Rapti, 21 in Kalika and 5 each in Madi Municipality and Ichchakamana Municipality. 1,677 people in Chitwan have been infected with the virus so far, with 993 males and 684 females. 715 of the patients have recovered and returned home, while 18 lost their lives.
