Nepali version of Dr Mahat’s ‘Trial, Tremors and Hope: Political Economy of Contemporary Nepal’ published

Kathmandu. A book titled “Nepalko Artharaajniti: Parikshan, Kampan ra Aasha” by Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat, former Finace Minister and leader of Nepali Congress, has been published. The book is a Nepali version Dr Mahat’s book “Trial, Tremors and Hope: Political Economy of Contemporary Nepal”. The book has been translated by journalist Gajendra Bista.

Adroit Publications of India had published the English version whereas Makalu Publication House has brought out the Nepali version. Bashudev Dhakal, chairperson of the the publication house, informed that the book will be made available to the readers going against the odds created by the  COVID-19  pandemic.

There are 12 chapters in the book. The book discusses on the origin of socialistic approach, its development with changes in the world and the different features of socialism that different democratic and communist nations of the world are following at present. The book has tried to analyze the different aspects of Nepal’s contemporary politically influenced economic issues based on facts and reality. The book also covers many political trials and events Nepal has experienced in the past.
