According to doctors at Advent Health Hospital in Florida, USA, they have developed a treatment called ICAM that is highly effective against coronavirus.

Doctors state that this therapy is designed to increase immunity. According to a report published in Fox 35 Orlando, the doctors are developing new therapies focused on increasing immunity as well as preventing inflammation in the lungs. Clinical trials, in order to publish the findings of this new therapy, are underway and they are expecting positive results. If ICAM therapy proves to be safe and effective, patients can be treated without being hospitalized.

While many Covid-19 vaccines worldwide are currently in various stages of trial, no definite cure has been found to save the lives of those that are critically ill. Meanwhile, many experts have states that the vaccine alone will not eradicate the coronavirus pandemic. Noting that vaccines won’t necessarily protect everyone, they are looking for other alternatives.

Dr. Carlette Norwood-Williams, Director of Pharmacy at AdventHealth Ocala, has told Fox 35 that, “Once the results of the study are available, we will know the next step.” According to researchers who have been working on this therapy since last April, it can save the lives of 96.4 percent of patients. The doctors clarified that ICAM is not a drug, but rather a combination therapy of four drugs that they have utilized.
