Man caught with half a kilo of gold in his possession

Kathmandu. 34-year-old Pawan Kumar Gupta was arrested by the police on Thursday with a half a kilo of gold in his possession. The authorities have claimed that Gupta was transporting the gold illegally from Kapilvastu to India.
Nawaraj Adhikari, the Superintendent of Police stated that within a blue cloth tied around his waist, they recovered 24 carats of gold, along with an 18 carat gold chain and an 18 carat gold ring, amounting to a sum of around NRs. 42 lakhs. He was apprehended in Mayadevi Gaupalika – 7, while he was driving his motorbike (Lu 56 Pa 6210) on the way to India. He has been sent to the Revenue Investigation Office Butwal for further inquiry.
