China-India expected to virtually attend the BRICS Summit this November

Russia has recently announced that the 12th BRICS Summit will start virtually from November 17. The BRICS grouping includes five countries- Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. According to the Indian Express, this will be the first virtual meeting that India and China are expected to attend after their standoff at the border. President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are expected to attend the meeting virtually. Modi and Xi last shared a common platform when Saudi Arabia organized a virtual gathering of the G-20 members on March 29.

The duo will also be meeting on the virtual G-20 Summit which will be held from November 21 to 22. The BRICS conference is expected to act as a platform to resolve the border issue of both the countries. Since the border stand-off started that started in May, the two countries have not been in good terms.
