Ten containers imported from Kerung every day
Rasuwa. The number of Chinese containers carried from Kerung to Nepal via Miteri Bridge in Rasuwagadhi has increased on a daily basis.
Chief Customs Officer at the Customs Office Punya Bikram Khadka informed that most of the imported Chinese goods are ready-made clothes. The checkpoint has been in service since July 4, and a revenue of Rs. 500 million has so far been obtained. According to Armed Police Force Border Security, Gulma Timure, eight to ten containers reach the customs daily for checking.
These containers are brought to the customs office from Rasuwagadhi by 32 porters and 17 drivers adopting safety procedures to reduce the danger of Covid-19. The security forces also informed that separate arrangements have been made for the lodging and feeding of porters and drivers in Rasuwagadhi area.
