Kathmandu. Radhe Bhandari, a gangster from Dhading, who has been obtaining forced donations from building material operators, including crusher operators and sand depots, has been arrested by Nepal Police.

Loknath Timsina, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, stated that Bhandari was arrested on the charge of threatening the people’s representative during a confrontation after the representative tried to stop him from illegally harvesting sand. Bhandari is also the district vice president of Tarun Dal, affiliated with the Nepali Congress. He was detained earlier, on June 5, with a pistol in Dhading. The Police have claimed that Bhandari had been threatening the traders of Dhading alone after Dinesh Adhikari (Chari) was killed in an encounter on July 5, 2013.
