Rani Pokhari to reopen from Tihar

Kathmandu. The reconstructed Rani Pokhari is set to open for locals from Tihar this year. According to the National Reconstruction Authority, the reconstruction was completed earlier this month and the President is expected to inaugurate it before Tihar.
The Gorkha earthquake destroyed the previous structure of Rani Pokhari in 2015. For the last five years, devotees used to pay obeisance to the statue of Balgopaleshwor from the gate. Aesthetician of National Reconstruction Authority Rajuman Manandhar mentioned that currently cleaning and lighting works are being conducted. The statue of Balgopaleshwor was reestablished in the temple on October 1.
King Pratap Malla had built the Rani Pokhari in the name of his son Chakravartendra. Historians claim that water from 108 pilgrimage sites had been poured in the pond. The four corners of its premises also have four temples of different gods.
