COVID-19 cases rising again in the United States, adding 50,000 infected daily
Kathmandu. Coronavirus is spreading rapidly in the United States again. In the last week of September, 40 to 45 thousand new infections were added each day in the United States which now has increased to 50 to 60 thousand. The number of COVID-19 cases in the US is reaching close to 8 million as more than 7.94 million people have been infected.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 cases worldwide have reached more than 37.6 million. The number of people recovered has reached 28.2 million, while the number of deaths from the virus has reached more than 1.08 million.
In Brazil, 559 people died from coronavirus on Saturday. At the same time, the number of deaths in Brazil has reached 150,236. After the United States, Brazil is the country where 150,000 people have died because of the virus so far. In the last 24 hours, 26,749 people have been infected making the number of total infected in Brazil to be more than 5 million.
Meanwhile, a second wave of infection has begun in Europe. Under the second wave, more than a million people have been infected. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has announced that new sanctions will be imposed on the country from Monday.
After his recovery, US President Donald Trump has claimed his ability to fight the virus. In an interview, he said, “I think I have the immunity to fight coronavirus.” His statement came after doctors ruled out the possibility of the virus being transmitted from Trump to others.
