Dolpa linked to Jumla via road

Khalanga. The construction of a concrete bridge at Danasanghu has now formally linked Dolpa to Jumla via road service. Transportation could not be carried during rainy season due to the lack of a bridge earlier aind ice formed due to snowfall would add more to the difficulty in winter.
The bridge was inaugurated by the Minister of Internal Affairs and law Naresh Bhandari. Construction works of the bridge had begun 10 years ago but the delay in implementation of federalism brought it to a standstill. The task could be completed. only after the Infrastructure Development Office of the Karnali Province government took the responsibility.
“It has helped vehicles reach till Kang village of Dolpa without any obstruction,” tractor driver Jaya Krishna Thapa told. Local businessman Padam karki said, “Earlier, mules were used for Dolpa-Jumla transportation of daily consumable items. Now, it will be facilitated by trucks and tractors.”
According to engineer Deep Sagar Dhungana, the construction of the bridge has made it easier to travel to Guthichaur Rural Municipality of Jumla along with Dolpa and Jajarkot. Now, Phoksundo Lake can be accessed much comfortably from Jumla via the Guthichaur-Chotra Homestay-Dunai route.
