Johnson & Johnson Company stops trials of COVID-19 vaccine

Kathmandu. The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll around the world affecting more than 37 million people worldwide. The US based Johnson & Johnson Company have stopped their vaccine trials, as one of the participants fell ill during the tests conducted for the development of the vaccine.

Before this, Oxford University and AstraZeneca had also started their trials of the vaccine, but both stopped as similar situations arose. The Johnson & Johnson Company have put a halt to their trials owing to “an unexplained illness in a study participant.” However, they have not yet disclosed any details regarding the illness that the individual is suffering from. On the issue the company has stated that, “We must respect this participant’s privacy. We’re also learning more about this participant’s illness, and it’s important to have all the facts before we share additional information.”

They have revealed that the phase three of the trials still remain, for which they are conducting further studies.
