15 soldiers killed as army helicopters collide in Afghanistan
Kabul. Two Afghan Air Force helicopters collided in the air accounting for at least 15 casualties. The accident took place in the southern district of Nava of the Helmand Province on Tuesday night, informs TOLOnews of Afghanistan.
The Helmand region has been facing some stressful situations because of regular attacks from the Taliban and the fierce counter operations. The accident had occurred at the conflict zone while dispatching commandos to and taking back the wounded from the site.
The Afghan Ministry of Defense has not yet given any statement on the incident. Omar Zwak, a spokesperson for the governor of the province, confirmed the incident in Nava district. The relief and rescue operations are being expedited and the injured are being taken to the hospital.
