Dipayal airport resumes service after 10 years

Kathmandu. Dipayal Airport has resumed service after facing shut down for a long time. Carrying 13 passengers from Dipayal to Dhangadhi in the first flight today, Summit Air has started operating Dpayal-Dhangadhi flight once a week.

The improvement of the airport was initiated by federal Member of Parliament from Doti, Prem Bahadur Aale Magar. Nepal government spent 80 million rupees for the blacktopping of the runway and building other structures. The airport started operation after the standardization work was carried out.

Lakpa Sherpa, pilot of Summit Air, stated that it was easier to land and take off at Doti airport than airports in other hilly districts. The fare for Dipayal to Dhangadi, one way, is set at 3,200 rupees per person. The flight is scheduled once a week for Friday, informs Bishal Ghimire,  chief, Civil Aviation Authority, Dipayal.
