Individuals arrested on charges of taking bribe

Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today has arrested Prem Chandra Bishwakarma, forest ranger at Subdivision Forest Office at Murgia in Rupandehi in charges of taking bribes.

According to the Commission spokesperson, Taranath Adhikari, Bishwakarma took a bribe of NRs. 12,000 in exchange for transporting purified wood. Similarly, the Commission, through the police station in Butwal, arrested a police constable, Shiv Chandra Sahani, and his wife Nirmala Kewat, on charges of taking NRs. 0.4 million as bribe. It is said that they took the heavy sum to free a culprit from jail. They were arrested from Siyari Rural Municipality-7 on Friday, and the investigation is ongoing for both of them.
