Bardiya National Park resumes safari services
Bardiya. The Bardiya National Park has resumed its jungle safari services. The national park was closed for a long time since the spread of the coronavirus pandemic led to a nation-wide lockdown. The Park administration has advised everyone to follow the precautionary measures before entering the park, and they have designated a particular route for the safari and other transportation.
The park was closed for domestic and international tourists since March 20. According to the park’s Assistant Conservation Officer, Maheshwar Prasad Niraula, if the jungle safari is done through a vehicle, only 60% of passengers shall be allowed whereas if it is done on foot, only four tourists with a guide shall be allowed.
Twenty-nine hotels equipped with various facilities have been opened for the tourists in the area. It has been stated that the hotels have an investment of NRs. 3.5 billion.
