APF adds a BOP in Kailali

Kathmandu. A border outpost (BOP) has been set up at Chhotipaliya of Kailari Rural Municipality, Kailali, on Sunday under Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal No, 34 Battalion Headquarters. APF Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hari Shankar Budhathoki and Chair of Kailari Rural Municipality Lajuram Chaudhary jointly inaugurated the BOP.
In the inaugural program, DIG Hari Shankar Budhathoki noted that the BOP has the chief responsibility to secure the Nepal-India border and check cross-border criminal activities. National News Agency (RSS) mentions that commander of APF,Nepal No, 34 Battalion Headquarters SP Dipendra Kunwar informed that the BOP will beef up border security and make people in the bordering region feel more secure.
There are 12 APF BOPs in Kailali district, along with the recent addition.. APF has plans to add more BOPs at the 101 km long border with India in Kailali. The addition of more BOPs is believed to curb the crimes like theft and smuggling and help in maintaining the overall security of the area.
