Nepali Army bids farewell to outgoing Defense Minister Pokhrel
Kathmandu. Nepali Army organized a farewell program in honour of Deputy Prime Minister and outgoing Defense Minister Ishwar Pokhrel. Chief of Army Staff General Purna ChandraThapa handed over a memento and thanked Pokhrel for his guidance during his three-year tenure in the Ministry of Defence.
Thapa also said that Pokhrel’s contribution has not only brought ease and simplicity to the working pattern of the ministry, but also helped in establishing the National Defence University as well as drafting and approving the implementation plan of the National Security Policy 2075.
Expressing his commitment to always support the Nepali Army in any capacity, Pokhrel praised the valuable role played by the army during disasters, calamities and pandemic during his tenure as the Minister of Defense.
