Two policemen killed while trying to stop smuggling at the border, seven arrested

Kathmandu. Two policemen were killed while trying to stop smuggling via the border at Kailali. The smuggler’s group killed Assistant Sub-Inspector Govinda BK and Police Constable Ram Bahadur Saud. The body of BK was found on October 18, whereas Saud’s body was found only on Tuesday. They both were stationed at a temporary police station at Kailali.

The District Police Office in Kailali has arrested seven people involved in the incident and made them public through a press conference on Tuesday afternoon. Kailali Police Chief SP Dilip Singh Deuba has said that the murder of the policemen was a planned one. He also mentioned that late BK was successful in nabbing such smugglers leading to the murder. Saud, who went on patrolling with BK, was also killed using a sharp weapon.

The accused have confessed their crime to the police. A murder case has been filed by the police against them.
