India witnesses decline in daily COVID-19 cases
The number of active cases of coronavirus in India is declining after it reached its peak during the mid of September.

New Delhi. In India, where up to one lakh new cases were being diagnosed every day, the average number has dropped to around 50,000 per day. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India, in the last 24 hours of October 21, and 54,044 new cases were found whereas, 717 people deaths were recorded throughout the country.
The total number of active cases is still as high as 7.40 lakhs. The total cases have, moreover, already exceeded 76 lakhs. The recovery rate is 88.1 per cent whereas, the death rate is 1.51 percent. Maharashtra is the most affected state which houses 1 lakh, 74 thousand 755 active cases.
