Kathmandu. The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) dispute that surfaced after NCP MPs of Karnali Provincial Assembly registered a vote of no confidence against their own Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi is at a dramatic turn now with two different statements regarding the issue being released from the offices of the two chairs of the party.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s press advisor Surya Thapa has released a press note stating that the two chairs have reached a four-point understanding and that they had consented to maintain the party situation in Karnali as it was before the motion of no confidence.
Press coordinator of NCP Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has a different story to tell, however. In his press note, he has informed that the party chair duo have not come to a solution. The party chairs had met on Monday but had not reached an agreement on the Karnali issue, he said.
The contradicting press notes of the NCP chair duo have added to the mystery of the already confusing tale of NCP politics in Karnali and the truth remains yet to be unveiled.
