President and Prime Minister inaugurate Rani Pokhari and Durbar High School (Photo Feature)
Kathmandu. President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli jointly inaugurated the reconstructed Rani Pokhari and the first school of Nepal, Durbar High School. Both the structures were destroyed by a massive earthquake in 2015.
After the reconstruction, the Balgopaleshwor temple inside Rani Pokhari was built according to its previous structure. While speaking at the inauguration event, the President commented that even though the human lives that were lost during and after the 2015 earthquake could not be completely accounted for, the physical structures could be revived. She expressed her happiness that the plans for the reconstruction of the structures turned into a reality.
The President expressed her confidence that the remaining reconstruction of the physical structures would be completed soon. She also mentioned that Rani Pokhari, which was built by Pratap Malla holds great historical, cultural and environmental significance. She immediately inaugurated Durbar High School after inaugurating Rani Pokhari.
