Godawari Municipality to make swab testing free
Lalitpur. Godawari Municipality has decided to make swab testing free for patients suffering from COVID-19. The Municipality released a notice on Wednesday stating that the patients, along with members of their family, and people who came in direct contact with the infected individuals, will be able to access the service.
The Mayor of the municipality, Gajendra Maharjan said that, “We made this decision so that the symptomatic residents of the municipality can benefit. We have decided to use the funds of the Disaster Management Fund and the testing will be done in Anandaban Hospita, that is l located in ward number 6, Tikabhairab.”
The municipality has been providing isolation facilities to the patients at the Korean Hotel in ward number 4, Badikhel, Godawari. The municipality has rented the hotel for NRs. 2,50,000. The Mayor also mentioned that 17 people have already recovered and left from the hotel after completing their respective periods of isolation. He also mentioned that the patients are provided with NRs. 1,000 worth of food during the day.
The total number of infections reached 468 on Tuesday in the Municipality, with the number of active infections amounting to 234. Thus far seven people have died due to COVID-19 in the area.
