59 Nepali students mistreated over hostel food in Dehradun, India

Kathmandu. 59 Nepali students studying in Dehradun, Uttaranchal State of India have been mistreated by the school authorities. Ex-spokesperson for the National Human Rghts Council, Mohana Ansari, told about having received the information about the incidence.

Ansari has mentioned that the hostel in-charge had beaten and tortured the children over the food being provided. Parents from Baglung, Rukum, Jumla, Humla, Sindhupalchowk and Ramechhap have been contacting her to help rescue the children, she added.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali, who had been mentioned by Ansari on the tweet, has told that the case is being studied by the ministry. Nepal’s ambassador to India Nilambar Acharya stated that investigations will be made and offered help, providing  the help number and email id of the embassy: +918929601925 and consularnepalembassy@gmail.com respectively..

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has informed about inquiry being made regarding the issue after having learnt about it from the media. Sewa Lamsal, spokesperson for MoFA, said that the ministry is collecting information.
