10 modern cities to be established along the Pushpalal Highway
Kathmandu. 10 modern and well-planned cities with all required infrastructures are going to be set up at different sections of the Pushpalal (Md Hill) Highway, State Minister for Urban Development Rmbir Manandhar said.
Speaking on the occasion of World Cities Day 2020 yesterday, State Minister Manandhar explained that the government is expediting the progress as the project of planned cities with all amenities represents the dreams of prosperity of the Nepali people.
National News Agency (RSS) quotes State Minister Shrestha as mentioning that the ministry has a master plan to keep the Kathmandu valley urbanized and maintain the ancient culture and civilization at the same time.
The major prerequisite for a beautiful city is the management of its waste, Manandhar said. The government has planned to operate a new landfill site at Bancharedada as a long-time solution to the problem of waste management of the Kathmandu valley, he informed.
