Kathmandu. Major General Ishwar Hamal has been conferred with the rank insignia of Lieutenant General by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa on November 2 (yesterday) at a function organized at the Nepali Army Headquarters.
Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Nepali Army informed that the Government of Nepal had approved Hamal’s promotion on June 20, 2020.
Lieutenant General Hamal is currently serving as the force commander of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) mission in Syria.
