France attacks Al-Qaeda in Mali, claims of 50 deaths
Kathmandu. In response to recent terrorist attacks in different parts of France, the country has attacked an Al-Qaeda hideout in the African country of Mali. According to France’s Defense Minister, the French military has arrested four terrorists alive, and killed more than 50 Al-Qaeda terrorists following the air strikes in Mali, as per The Hindu.
Lately, a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammad was made in France, which led to a dispute between France and the Muslim world. During the ongoing dispute, French citizens were killed in terrorist attacks in various French cities. At the same time, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that he would not support violence. As per the French Minister of the Armed Forces, Florence Parly, the French military carried out an air strike in Mali on October 30, killing more than 50 militants and damaging a large number of their weapons.
Four terrorists have been captured alive. France announced the airstrikes only on Monday. A large number of explosives, suicide jackets and other items had been found in the area of the attack. The French military has claimed that it carried out the airstrikes in Mali, near the border between Burkina Faso and Niger. The French government stated that all 50 of the deceased were linked with Al-Qaeda.
