Interim order not to arrest VTEN
Kathmandu. Patan High Court has issued an interim order not to arrest rapper Samir Ghising alias VTEN, who is accused of insulting the police and spreading obscenity through a song. Spokesperson of the Patan High Court, Deputy Registrar Shambhu Prasad Regmi, said that an interim order has been issued not to arrest him simply on the basis of the music video, as per the demand of the petition.
After the police prepared to make an arrest, VTEN filed a writ petition in the high court. After hearing the writ, the session presided by High Court Judge Nahakul Subedi issued an interim order not to arrest the singer on the issue of music.
It has been ordered not to arrest the singer solely on the basis of his song unless it is found that he has committed a criminal offense. The high court has also ordered the police to present the reasons for his arrest, within 15 days, and then proceed with VTEN’s arrest.
