Indian Army Chief lands in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane has arrived at Kathmandu leading a four-member team today (Wednesday) at 11:40 am. General Naravane’s  team landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport in a special Indian Air Force flight and is at the Soaltee Hotel currently, where they are staying during their three-day visit.

General Naravane is on a formal three-day visit to Nepal on the invitation of COAS General Purna Chandra Thapa.


In course of his Nepal visit, the Indian Army Chief is scheduled to meet with President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his counterpart Nepali Army Chief General Purna Chandra Thapa.

Nepali Army Directorate of Public Relations and Information has informed that President Bidya Devi Bhandari will confer the rank of honorary General of the Nepali Army on the Indian Chief of Army Staff on November 5 as per the tradition between India and Nepal of conferring each other’s army chief the rank of honorary Generals.
