FNJ to launch sit-in protest in front of media houses
Kathmandu. The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has issued a statement giving a five-day ultimatum to media houses to reinstate the journalists who have been expelled and denied regular remunerations in the pretext of COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision to give the ultimatum to the media houses was taken by the high-level committee led by the FNJ chairperson Gobinda Acharya.
The FNJ would launch a sit-in protest at three media houses—Nepal News Network International Pvt. Ltd that publishes Annapurna Post Daily, TBI Publications Pvt. Ltd. that publishes Karobar Daily and Rajdhani News Publications Pvt. Ltd. that publishes Rajdhani Daily–on November 11, according to National News Agency (RSS).
The media houses have not addressed the problem despite repeated calls to them in writing and through talks and has forced FNJ to take the current action for the rights of the journalists, the FNJ said.
