Indian Premier League to welcome a new team
Kathmandu. The Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) has already begun working for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League(IPL) 2021, which is expected to be held from March. Earlier this week, the 13th season of IPL was completed with immense success.
According to the council, due to the shortage of time, it may have to cancel the mega auction. But, considering the fact that the mega auction will be in everyone’s interest, the decision will be made only after 2 weeks. BCCI is planning to announce a tender for a new franchise team after Tihar. “In case, if a new team is welcomed then the mega auction cannot be avoided,” said sources.
According to reports, the new ninth franchise team may be from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium of Ahmedabad, the newly reconstructed largest cricket stadium in the world. Although IPL has always been known for its 8-teams tournament, 10 teams had played in 2010 and 9 teams had played in 2012 and 2013.
According to reports, the mega auction is expected to be held in early 2021.
