Tourism Minister Bhattarai inaugurates academic course on tourism and mountaineering

Kathmandu.Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has inaugurated classes on tourism and mountaineering at Bhanujan Secondary School at Phungling Municipality-4 of Taolejung District.
Inaugurating the course on tourism and mountaineering at the Bhanujan Secondary School, Minister Bhattarai said, “Nepal is one of the most famous countries in the world for tourism. For the promotion of tourism and economic development, tourism education is important.” Stating the possibility of tourism in Taplejung he added, “Thousands of tourists visit Nepal every year for mountaineering, trekking and other adventure activities The course has been started to produce manpower needed to cater to the needs in mountaineering.”
Rom Nath Gyawali, executive director of Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM), and Kishor Rai, principal of Bhanujan Secondary School have signed an MOU according to which NATHM will provide the academics and the course materials required to teach tourism and mountaineering in class 11 and 12 . NATHM has also pledged to provide necessary academic and technical assistance as needed by the school while conducting the classes in mountaineering and tourism.
