Ordinance for import will be brought after successful test of vaccine: Minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal
Morang. Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal has informed that an ordinance has been prepared, so that there would be no legal issues to import COVID-19 vaccines into Nepal as soon as the vaccine test is successful.
He said that the government has also paid attention to the preparation of physical infrastructure to help in the treatment of corona patients. Minister Dhakal lauded the construction of a 100-bed Citizen Center with High Dependency Unit (HDU) and oxygen for the treatment of corona patients while monitoring the ‘Citizen Care Center’, co-constructed by the government of Province No. 1, Biratnagar Metropolitan City and the private sector.
He also added that the need for oxygen, intensive care unit (ICU) and ventilator for treatment was a priority. Minister Dhakal informed that the government is preparing to add 3,500 well-equipped beds, out of which 2,000 will be set up in Kathmandu and the rest in different parts of the country.
Minister for Social Development of Province No. 1 Jeevan Ghimire, Minister of State Jasmaya Gajmer and Center Coordinator Pawan Sardal informed that the construction work is being carried out at a cost of NRs. 20 million from the provincial government, NRs. 15 million from the private sector and NRs. 2.5 million from the Metropolitan City.
Minister Dhakal also visited Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar on Thursday.
