‘Wipeout’ contestant dies after playing new version of obstacle game
Kathmandu. In a statement on Friday, the production team of a TV show, WIPEOUT confirmed the death of a contestant, who passed away after completing the round of obstacles in the game.
Wipeout is an American television game show that features 24 contestants, who compete in the world’s largest obstacle course. It was originally aired on American channel ABC from 2008 to 2014. Viewers who find the show interesting and funny are excited for the reboot version of the show which is expected to be aired from 2021.
According to a story by Fox News, after completing the course on Wednesday, the contestant required medical attention and the safety team had taken care of him on-site. The male contestant was rushed to the hospital, where he died.
The production company Endemol Shine North America, claimed that they had a qualified safety team assigned to ensure the safety of the contestants. The team consists of two paramedics, a paramedics coordinator and a protection producer. Before participation, the contestants must also undergo medical examinations.
