Kathmandu. The political sphere has been hit by a new wave with the news of Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Prime Minister and Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chair KP Sharma Oli having a covert meeting. Rumors are rife among the NC politicians that PM Oli has offered partnership in the government.

NC spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma has used his Twitter handle to clarify the situation. He has tweeted that NC was not joining the government. He has not written anything as to whether there had been a meeting between the heads of the two parties or not.

Former spokesperson of NC and a prominent leader Arjun Narasingha KC’s tweet followed spokesperson Sharma’s tweet.

He has mentioned in his tweet that if NC accepted KP Oli’s proposal to join the government, it would be no less than a suicide attempt. He writes: “There is a rumor that PM Oli has offered to form a joint government with NC. To share power with those who promised people stability and prosperity but shattered their hopes indulging in knee-deep corruption will be like sharing the burden of all their misdoings. To hurry to join them will be self destructive. It’s their problem whether they remain together or split.”
