Revenue collection target must be met: FM Poudel

Kathmandu. In a virtual meeting organized by the Ministry of Finance, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has directed all employees to work to meet the revenue collection target mentioned in the budget.
Minister Poudel stated that the target of revenue collection should be met at all cost tackling the corona challenge.
The program was attended by secretaries of the Finance Ministry, Director Generals of Department of Inland Revenue and Department of Customs and Chiefs of Customs and Inland Revenue Offices on Monday, national News Agency (RSS) reported.
Minister Poudel reiterated the old carrot and stick adage and said, “The Ministry will help to resolve your difficulties and problems. We will appreciate if the target is met; otherwise, you will to be penalized.” He urged them to find solution themselves and seek support from the leadership only when it was beyond their capacity
Minister Poudel made it clear that it was the responsibility of the employees of the Finance Ministry to help raise the economy carrying their activities going against the difficulties created by Covid-19. he also said that the ministry would pay special attention for the capacity building of the employees to get effective result
Similarly, Finance Secretary Shishir Kumar Dhungana, Revenue Secretary Ram Sharan Pudasaini also expressed their views. RSS states that More than 100 employees had participated in the virtual meeting.
