Greg Barclay elected new ICC chair
Kathmandu. Greg Barclay of New Zealand has been elected the new independent chairman of the International Cricket Council. He succeeds Shashank Manohar of India.
Barclay is an Auckland-based commercial lawyer and has been a director of New Zealand Cricket (NZC) since 2012. He is currently NZC’s representative on the board of the International Cricket Council, from which he will step down to serve the ICC as the chair. He was also a director of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2015.
After hi appointment as the chair, Greg Barclay said: “It is an honor to be elected as the Chair of the International Cricket Council and I would like to thank my fellow ICC Directors for their support. I hope we can come together to lead the sport and emerge from the global pandemic in a strong position and poised for growth.”
