Mountain flights resume after eight months
Kathmandu. The mountain flights began today after eight months of closure due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Two private air services- The Buddha Air and Yeti Airlines- resumed the mountain flights targeting domestic tourists. The Buddha Air conducted three flights- one ATR-72 and two ATR-42- flying 150 passengers to view the mountains.
Similarly, Yeti Airlines flew for mountain viewing with 92 passengers in two flights. These two companies will regularly conduct mountain flights every Saturday. They said number of flights would increase once they draw more passengers.
Spokesperson at Yeti Airlines Sudarshan Bartaula said the mountain flight was encouraging and the booking for additional flights was fine.
The current season is suitable for mountain flight. Buddha Air charges Rs 8,900 for a person to have the adventurous flight. (CB Adhikari/RSS)
