NRA gets one-year extension to complete reconstruction

Kathmandu. The meeting of the Council of Ministers on November 30 has extended the tenure of National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) for a year. The decision is effective from December 25, 2020.

NRA’s term was extended as per the Article 3 (C) of Act on Reconstruction of Earthquake Affected Structures, 2015, which states that  the Government of Nepal may extend the term of the NRA for one year if the  reconstruction work is not completed within the allocated five-year period,

In the given time, the NRA is expected to complete the reconstruction works of private houses, Singhadurbar, Ranipokhari and Dharahara, National News Agency (RSS) states.

Earlier, on September 21, NRA’s  Directive Committee meeting chaired by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had recommended the extension.
