Bibeksheel-Sajha: Will the reunification last?
Kathmandu. Bibeksheel Nepali Party and Sajha Party have been reunited. The heads of the two parties, Rabindra Mishra of Sajha and Milan Pande of Bibeksheel jointly announced the unification in a virtual program today.
After the unification, the party has been named Bibeksheel Sajha Party, and it has been decided that until the general convention of the new party is conducted, there will be one chair and one coordinator in the party. Coordinator of Sajha Party Rabindra Mishra will be the chair of the new party, whereas Milan Pande, chair of the Bibeksheel Paty will be the coordinator. Both will share the executive powers, but Mishra will be the first in the party and Pande the second in hierarchy.
The Bibeksheel Sajha Party has chosen ‘flag’ as the election symbol and opted to use the office of the Sajha Party at Bakhundole. The office of the Bibeksheel Patry at Samakhushi will be used as the contact office for provinces.
Speaking at the unification program, Chair Rabindra Mishra stated that Bibeksheel Sajha will be established not as an alternative but the only party to go for.
A central committee of 130 members with 65 members from each of the two parties have been formed. The central secretariat will have 26 members, half from each party. The meetings of the central committee will be called and agenda be set as per the understanding of the chair and coordinator.
Two office bearers and 13 other leaders of the Bibeksheel Party did not attend the unification program.
The Bibeksheel Sajha Party had undergone unification earlier too but the two parties could not jell together and before the unification could take proper shape, the new party disintegrated two years ago.
