German Chancellor Angela Merkel tops Forbes list 10 years in a row
Kathmandu. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been named the world’s most powerful woman by Forbes magazine. She has won the title for the tenth consecutive year. The magazine has launched the list in 2004 that included various women from politics, business and entertainment.
Christine Lagarde, the president of European Central Bank filled the second spot whereas United States Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris secured the third spot. The list includes various personalities including Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, tv personality Oprah Winfrey, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern among others.
Although Michelle Obama had topped the list in 2010, Merkel had topped the list from 2006-2009 as well. Merkel is known to have taken strict measures for the control of the coronavirus pandemic, including a lockdown in Christmas.
