Central Zoo to reopen after eight months
Kathmandu. Nepal’s only zoo, the Central Zoo at Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, is being opened for the public after eight months. The zoo administration has informed that the zoo will be reopened following all necessary health safety protocols as directed by the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC)
The zoo that had been closed due to the corona pandemic since March 20, 2020 for the public is reopening from Thursday (today).
Oonly 7-800 people will be allowed to enter the zoo in a lot, the zoo administration informed . The visitors would complete their round in a maximum of 90 minutes after which another batch would be allowed to enter. This arrangement has been made so as to minimize the formation of crowd inside the zoo. Visitors will not be allowed to feed the animals and eat food inside the zoo.
The zoo has arranged for online ticketing system too. The rates for foreigners is Rs 750, SAARC nationals Rs 500 and Rs 150 for Nepali citizens. For students and senior citizens, the entrance will cost Rs 90.
