Kathmandu. The Nepal National Nepal Teachers Association (NNTA) has demanded that Rajendra Kumar Shrestha, a teacher murdered by the cadres of Nitra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ group, be declared a martyr.
Shrestha, principal of Saraswati Basic School at Miklajung Rural Municipality of Morang, was kidnapped and murdered on December 8. The Mechi-Koshi bureau of the Biplav group had claimed to have punished him for disclosing party activities to the police going against their warnings.
Baburam Thapa, NNTA president, submitted a letter to the government on Thursday demanding severe legal action against the culprit involved in the murder of Shrestha besides the demand to declare him a martyr.
