Kathmandu. The Special Court has ordered to take former Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Deep Basnyat. in police custody.
Basnyat has been found involved in the infamous Lalita Niwas land scam and after the argument at the cour today, he has been sent to police custody, spokesperson to the Special Court Pushpa Raj Pandey informed.
During his tenure as the secretary of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Construction from Sep 2009 to March 2011, he forwarded the proposal to use the land of Lalita Niwas to expand the prime minister’s residence at Baluwatar.
