Kathmandu. The Prachanda-Madhav faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has removed Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli as the chair of the party, replacing him with Madhav Kumar Nepal. The central committee meeting of the Prachanda-Madhav NCP faction held at Karki Banquet today made the decision.
As per the group’s claim, the meeting was attended by 310 out of the 441 central members. In an earlier meeting on Dec 20, they had decided to take disciplinary action against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The Oli-led NCP organized a separate central committee meeting at Baluwatar today. This meeting has removed Narayan Kaji Shrestha as the spokesperson and chosen Pradeep Kumar Gyawali as the new spokesperson.
